This was our 1st time in Malta. We stayed for a week in a superior seaview room in the Plaza side on a half board basis. The views and room (floor 5) with large balcony overlooking bay and promenade were great. Air con was good in the room, and there was no noise from outside when doors were closed. Room cleaning was very good and maids and other staff very friendly. We used the roof top pool area a few times, it is very hot up there but sometimes there is a nice breeze. We enjoyed the food here, cooked breakfast or cold. Evening meal was soup, salad, 3 main hot choices with vegetables, 3 sweet choices, ice-cream and cheese and crackers. Drinks are signed for, and paid at reception at the end of your stay. There is a price list on your table. You receive a bill under your door on your last day with everything itemised. Staff in restaurant are pleasant and hardworking. We used Cara,s Cafe 3 times at lunch, and food is nice with reasonable prices. Peppi,s across the road from the hotel is nice with a terrace overlooking the bay. Cold cans of lager with an icy cold glass were 1.50 euro here, food was good also. We booked our shuttle transfers through Resort hoppa who used Williams Garage. After collecting our Luggage we were met by the driver with our name on a card and left the airport 5 minutes later. We were picked up for our return a few minutes early and we were the only 2 on the shuttle bus. Buses pass hotel regularly, they are 2.60 euros for a day pass or 2.20 euros for 1 journey, you just pay the driver. On day of departure our flight was not until 10.10 pm, but the hotel was full so we could not have a late check out room. There is a left luggage room, and a small courtesy room on floor 6, ( a shower, loo and washbasin) we treat this as a normal day and used these facilities. I would use this hotel again as the price is right, it is very central but I would like the same kind of room and view.

It was 2006 that I first recommended this hotel and I still cannot fault it. The rooms are cleaned every day and are comfortable. Pool on the roof and bathing area via lift or stairs. Restaurant provides more than adequate breakfast choice - only ever done breakfast as there are so many places to eat out there just isnt enough time to try them all.[See my post on Holiday-Truth.com] The position on Tower Road is ideal. Beautiful view across to Spinola Bay to the best restaurant on the Island - Paparazzi. Bus stops either side of road right outside. This Hotel really is the best placed for wandering. We have stayed here 3 times now - 2006, 2009 and 2011 and I honestly wouldn't want to stay else where. Please dont all book in in early May though as I want to be able to get a room!! You need to indulge yourself and book a front superior sea view room above 2nd floor at least once here - we do each time! The view is such that the curtains have to stay open all night as seeing the view last thing and first thing is heaven.
